Suse 9.2 6.8.2-rc1 + touchpad
Hi List, perhaps its a bit late but ... I have notived that since the upgrade to rc1 my synaptics touchpad occationaly gets lost when starting X. It does not happen often but you can find a long list of "lost sync" messages in syslog. I dont know if its related to rc1 only (and its not often or i would have reported earlier) but if someone notice this also he should report it here. re, walter

Check your xorg.conf file whether it only has a /dev/input/mice device
with explorer/ps2 configured, or additionally one with the synaptics
driver.
The default driver moved to kernel space, and these drivers do not seem
to kick (i.e. reset) the mouse if it gets hopelessly lost. I found that
suspending the machine (StR or StD) and resuming it was enough to get
that one fixed. But of course this is something in the kernel mouse
driver to be changed.
