On my system no new xserver 1.6.0 doesn't work and I'll get always a black screen (GeForce 7600 GS) and freezing. If I downgrad to xserver 1.5.2 it works. No issues with a GeForce 6200 here.

No idea why /tmp/xorg.conf.5333 is considered to be used. Doesn't make sense to me.
