suse 8.2 can't config dell m60 video
I recently got a dell m60 laptop and I am having problems configuring the screen for xfree86. I had to perform the install in text mode because none of the resolutions worked. Now when I run yast2 to try to change the resolution X never picks up, and I have to hit ctrl-ald-backspace to get back to the console. The native resolution is 1920x1200. The graphics card is the nvidia quadrofx 700, and it gets detected (at least as an nvidia vid card). I am guessing the vertical refresh is 60Hz, but I don't know the horizontal. What do I need to do to get X to work? Thanks, Benj FitzPatrick __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Most likely the XFree86 nv driver doesn't support the chipset since it's quite new. You will most likely have to download the nVidia binary only driver from www.nvidia.com. -- Ben Rosenberg ---===---===---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org ----- If two men agree on everything, you can be sure that only one of them is doing the thinking.
