Problem 9.1 ATI 9000 (rv250) driver Kde 3.2.2
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Ok now this is really getting to me... I installed the ATI driver and I don't believe there were any errors and ran fglrxconfig. It created the XF86Config-4 file, which it seems to be booting off of. If I understand this correctly, it ignores any setting changes that I make in Yast, or at least it seems to. But when I do a fglrxinfo it says the mesa drivers are being loaded. I posted the first part in the kde sites, and maybe I'm impatient, but after fooling around I think I'm doing something wrong with XF86Config-4 ~ I have a Gateway 600xl with the 17.1" lcd screen (Laptop). When I am in my normal users mode the screed is split off center. If you look at control center->background, in the picture in the upper right corner shows the background with a four way split about 200 pixels x, and 150 pixels y. If I put something over the split (say superkaramba theme) it will be moved the next time I log in. Other then that it doesn't seem to affect anything else. It is just annoying. When i installed suse it said the ati card was a rv250lf. I then installed the ATI drivers and it says that it supposed to be a rv250lg. I configured the ati drivers with fglrxconfig and set everything up there. I ran glxgears and only see 240fps w/ 3d enabled. Also, even thought the touchpad is selected in Yast, as I think the Yast config is being ignored, I copied the secion info for the touchpad and goteen to work, but now I've lost the USB mouse, which I also tried to set up in XF86Config-4. Funny thing is the split doesn't show up in root mode. Any help would be appreciated... I can send any files parts if that would help - -- Adolph & Sharon Weidanz '78 43' Endeavour Ketch S/V Time To Paws -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFAptXZlC+PSm9+eB0RAsYdAJ4ynLeSh8bqzm4qizE40y8jnKjAAACfYaE8 w1wHQWXuiigQw7Re4IjfrdE= =UPI8 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
