Hi Stefan, Thanks for the info about the AMD64 drivers. I have only 256k of memory so I won't be able to use that option with grub. When I try to install my video card I am using sax2 and testing it. That is when it locks up and my screen turns black. When I reboot everything is ok but of course it is not configure for a GeForce4 MMX440. It is still using the generic driver for nvidia. I was thinking about using the xconfigurator and try to change my video card but I am worried that I won't be able to start X again if something goes wrong. Can I run sax2 or xconfigurator if I cannot get into X from the command line? will I be able to switch it back to the generic nvidia driver? The AMD64 drivers are for AMD 64bit processors only. It will be better that you don't use them. If you have more than 1GB of RAM installed try

mem=512M or mem=768M

as option in your grub or lilo configuration file "/boot/grub/menu.lst" or "/etc/lilo.conf".
