[opensuse-xorg] xorg-packages for opensuse 11.0 badly broken
Hi folks, today I upgraded from the current openSUSE xorg repository: http://download.opensuse.org/pub/opensuse/repositories/X11:/XOrg/openSUSE_11... and I have to state that this is _totally_ broken. When trying to restart X11, you get module ABI major version (4) doesn't match the server's version That means no X11 for me right now. Any fixes pending? This is _very_ bad right now. Yesterday everything was ok, the latest updates crashed everything. Thanks! Take care Dieter Jurzitza -- ----------------------------------------------------------- | \ /\_/\ | | ~x~ |/-----\ / \ /- \_/ ^^__ _ / _ ____ / <°°__ \- \_/ | |/ | | || || _| _| _| _| if you really want to see the pictures above - use some font with constant spacing like courier! :-) ----------------------------------------------------------- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-xorg+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-xorg+help@opensuse.org

Yes, I know. On the source package level things should be fixed by now. Now it's up to the buildservice build fixed packages and make them public. :-) As workaround for now you can reinstall xorg-x11-server from 11.0. There are still a lot of things broken right now in X11:XOrg projet. From my TODO: - xorg-x11-server: * reenable/fix VNC support * freetype module gone ?!? - xorg-x11-driver-input: how to configure xf86-input-evdev 2.1.3 Stefan Public Key available ------------------------------------------------------ Stefan Dirsch (Res. & Dev.) That's what I did, but in my case 11.1 for my Intel GM45 HP2230s laptop :-) Stefan, is it from Intel 2008Q4? regards, medwinz -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-xorg+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-xorg+help@opensuse.org

Stefan
I just realized I hit the sent button to fast :-), the question is not for you. I mixed up other email from somebody else. What I want to ask to you, is the update consist of what mentioned in [1] which is said that "While X Server 1.6 is being pushed as a standalone update without a new version of X.Org officially arriving, several other X.Org packages have been updated recently as well" ? I'm not follow all the xorg update so maybe I missed something. Thanks for your time.
