i915 driver on SuSE 9.1, using Intel 865G
Hello, It's time to try 3D acceleration on SuSE 9.1. I'm using an Intel 865G chip, and obtained the i915 driver from Intel's site at http://support.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-010512.htm I've updated my system using YaST. I'm having plenty of trouble building the i915 driver on SuSE. When I run the install.sh script, I get: #### begin install.sh output #### make -f Makefile.linux DRM_MODULES=gdg.ko modules make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/X11R6/dripkg/drm' make -C /lib/modules/2.6.5-7.111.19-default/build SUBDIRS=`pwd` DRMSRCDIR=`pwd` modules make[2]: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux-2.6.5-7.111.19-obj/i386/default' make -C ../../../linux-2.6.5-7.111.19 O=../linux-2.6.5-7.111.19-obj/i386/default modules grep: /lib/modules/2.6.5-7.111.19-default/build/include/linux/mm.h: No such file or directory grep: /lib/modules/2.6.5-7.111.19-default/build/include/linux/mm.h: No such file or directory grep: /lib/modules/2.6.5-7.111.19-default/build/include/linux/vmalloc.h: No such file or directory CC [M] /usr/X11R6/dripkg/drm/gdg_drv.o In file included from /usr/X11R6/dripkg/drm/gdg_drv.c:30: /usr/X11R6/dripkg/drm/drm_vm.h: In function `gdg_mmap': /usr/X11R6/dripkg/drm/drm_vm.h:624: warning: passing arg 1 of `remap_page_range' makes pointer from integer without a cast /usr/X11R6/dripkg/drm/drm_vm.h:624: error: incompatible type for argument 4 of `remap_page_range' /usr/X11R6/dripkg/drm/drm_vm.h:624: error: too few arguments to function `remap_page_range' make[5]: *** [/usr/X11R6/dripkg/drm/gdg_drv.o] Error 1 make[4]: *** [_module_/usr/X11R6/dripkg/drm] Error 2 make[3]: *** [modules] Error 2 make[2]: *** [modules] Error 2 make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.6.5-7.111.19-obj/i386/default' make[1]: *** [modules] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/X11R6/dripkg/drm' make: *** [gdg.ko] Error 2 #### end install.sh output #### #### begin 'X -version' output #### XFree86 Version 4.3.99.902 (4.4.0 RC 2) Release Date: 18 December 2003 X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0, Release 6.6 Build Operating System: SuSE Linux [ELF] SuSE Current Operating System: Linux 667-20040306 2.6.5-7.111.19-default #1 Fri Dec 10 15:10:58 UTC 2004 i686 Build Date: 23 August 2004 Changelog Date: 29 February 2004 Before reporting problems, check http://www.XFree86.Org/ to make sure that you have the latest version.
