Question on Yast2 @ SuSE 9.2
Dear listmembers, I use the 6.8.2 binaries as provided in the supplementary path on the ftp-server. However, whenever I try to install new packages with Yast2 I am offered to install the upgraded 6.8.1 xorg-server that has been distributed as update in the SuSE - update path. The same holds true for the xorg-x11-fonts-100dpi and xorg-x11-fonts-75dpi. Whereas I would assume it is not that critical for the fonts, I would see it very critical for the xserver to only "upgrade" the xorg-server package which is in fact a downgrade from 6.8.2 to 6.8.1. Is that meant to be that way? Just the same happens with several kde-packages and i.e. the sane-package from the kde-upgrade path which is in fact a downgrade that exhibits errors when being loaded but would always be installed as "upgrade" if I would not explicitly take care to avoid the installation. Any "way 'round" this? Many thanks for your efforts, sorry for the not so much X-related issue, take care Dieter Jurzitza -- ----------------------------------------------------------- | \ /\_/\ | | ~x~ |/-----\ / \ /- \_/ ^^__ _ / _ ____ / <°°__ \- \_/ | |/ | | || || _| _| _| _| if you really want to see the pictures above - use some font with constant spacing like courier! :-) -----------------------------------------------------------
