Jumping Mouse with Omnicube / Intellimouse PS/2 with SuSE 9.1
Hallo all, I've installed SuSE 9.1. The Mouse is a Intelli Mouse PS/2. The mouse is connected via 4 port console switch (Omnicube 4 Port, Belkin). If I boot directly this machine into runlevel 5, the everything is fine with the mouse. As ssoon as I switch to another machine and back, the mouse is jumping and generating random mouse button events. In order to escape this state, I tried the following, without success: - switch to text console and back (Ctrl-Alt-F2, Ctrl-Alt-F7) - restart X server - switch to run level 3 and then back to 5 Also on the text console with a 'rcgpm start' the mouse showed the same behaviour. The only action what currently helps, is a reboot of the machine. Does anybody know a command to reinitialize the mouse hardware/driver ? I have an A4tech PS/2 mouse and tried to connect it to two PCs via a two-port KVM by Equip. One has a true PS/2 mouse port, the other has a serial port with an adapter (PS/2 socket to serial plug). Unluckily, it did not work properly. My attempt to cure it via the "resync mouse" command of the switch failed. I attribute this to the adapter used on the old PC. I decided to use two (identical) mice, connected to the PCs directly. If you have true PS/2 ports on both machines, a KVM builtin command to re-sync the mouse might be worth a try.
