Intel G865 and refesh rate
Hi list Is there any known problems with recent(http://www.suse.com/de/security/2004_06_xf86.html) Xfree86 security update ? I updated XFree a few days ago with online update and since then I am not been able to get over 60 Hz vertical refresh rate. No matter what I do, refresh rate is always 60 Hz. I have dual boot with win2k and in windows refresh rate is okay. First I thought it might be the BIOS update which I made at the same time when I update xfree86 but I temporarily downgraded bios version back to old bios but it didn't help. I tried xmode command and added manually modelines to XF86Config but no luck. My hardware is: Intel D865gbf motherboard with 2.66GHz Intel P4 prosessor with build-in graphics adapter (Intel® Extreme Graphics 2) and Compaq V700 Monitor. I have been using i810 module and earlier I configured XFree86 with sax2 and everything worked well with screen resolution 1280x1024@75Hz. But not anymore. I use Suse 9.0. Anybody any idea ? Same as usual: send a copy of your XF86Config(-4) file and the XFree86.0.log file to the mailinglist, and we'll see if we can find a solution. :) Kind regards, Pieter Hulshoff

Silly me, I knew I forgot something :( Anyway, I will upload those files on the web somewhere and then I'll mail links here. -- Pasi Palo

I think noone would object to you posting them here I think. That's what mailinglists like this one are for (I think); that's at least the normal practice on the XFree86 mailinglist. Links will work too though. :) Regards, Pieter Hulshoff
