Hi. I've had a multi-user machine running XFCE through about three openSUSE versions, and I've just logged into the user account that I use most often (on openSUSE 12.1) and everything's been inexplicably messed up. No updates applied or config changes made that I know of since yesterday when it was working fine, although it did take a long time to log out and shut down the last time. I'm currently the administrator and only user. Firstly, the pager with the workspace switcher is only showing one instead of the usual two virtual desktops. When I try to reconfigure it to two, it refuses to add any more. Then I noticed the title bar and hence window buttons / decorations are all missing on any opened windows. Strangely, in Firefox, configured to show the menu button top-left and no menu bar, I can't even close the program, because having clicked on the Menu button, the moment I try to mouse over an item in the drop-down menu in order to 'Quit', the menu disappears. Since I therefore can't get the menu bar to reappear either and there are no keyboard shortcuts, I'm forced to open Task Manager to kill it. In the Settings Manager, clicking on certain categories like Window Manager or Window Tweaks presents a blank dialog with no options. At one point, a new entry appeared in the Settings, I think its icon showed XV or XD or two other letters. It contained no options but now I can't get it to appear again. I checked the other user accounts and they're okay. I suspect there's a corrupted config file but looking in the files in the home directory I can't see anything obvious.
