Hi,
I recently posted on the opensuse list as well about performance issues I'm seeing after updating to Leap 15.2.
So what I'm seeing which is either part of the problem or just a symptom: xfwm4 is spiking (at least) the cpu load quite often. During that time my whole desktop is totally sluggish.
Hm, "my" 15.2 users are not complaining, but maybe I do have all compositing stuff disabled since forever though. All on Thinkpad 420 with intel graphics.
As said I don't know if it's part of the root cause or just that something else affects xfwm4 heavily as well. When looking at top I typically see Firefox, Thunderbird, sometimes rocket.chat and xfwm4 fighting for the top position. While I expect to large applications I do really not expect the Xfce window manager regularly on the very top.
Any ideas?
Not really, but disabling compositing might be worth a try. I just notice that I have compositing enabled on my machine (but with tumbleweed), just all the shadow effects disabled.
