Hi again.

Dear Guido,
* Marcus Moeller <marcus.moeller@gmx.ch> [2013-11-11 20:21]:
I have installed 13.1 which worked fine on first startup. Afterwards I have updated the system and now lightdm does not start anymore.
Here is the output of systemctl status xdm:
Loaded: loaded (/etc/init.d/xdm) Active: inactive (dead) since Mon 2013-11-11 20:11:57 CET; 2min 58s ago Process: 1040 ExecStop=/etc/init.d/xdm stop (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) Process: 618 ExecStart=/etc/init.d/xdm start (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)

After a manual restart of xdm.service lightdm comes up correctly. Any idea what might go wrong during system startup?
I can't reproduce that and systemctl doesn't help here, can you switch to a vt right after it happens and tar up /var/log/lightdm/ and /var/logXorg.0.log and put it up somewhere?
In the meantime, I have noticed that there is already an BZ open on that. It also contains the logfiles you have requested:
please keep relies on list. There are a hundred possible reasons why the display manager or X could fail to come up and the above bug is far from clear, so please post the above logs and /var/log/messages if you want to make sure your issue is addressed.
Sorry, I always forget the default opensuse- list behaviour which is different from all other mailinglists I use. I am going to try to attach my logs to the bugreport, too. Right now I have switched to xdm in order to get a usable system.
