Wat must be done about pages that are a clear copy and paste from another page? A) Change the layout, so it is included in openSUSE.org B) Delete it e.g. http://www.opensuse.org/Anjuta and http://anjuta.sourceforge.net/features User Amikarpe has entered a lot other pages like that. I asume he just clicked on the words in http://www.opensuse.org/Product_Highlights and added what he found. Also again a plea to ask what will come in the place of http://www.opensuse.org/Product_Highlights ? Are there people thinking about that, because again, it is absoluly NOT the *Product Highlights* that are seen on that page. I rather have the info from http://www.novell.com/products/suselinux/ -> Product Info -> Features. I first want to know what others idea are, before I start a complete re-write. houghi -- Quote correct (NL) http://www.briachons.org/art/quote/ Zitiere richtig (DE) http://www.afaik.de/usenet/faq/zitieren Quote correctly (EN) http://www.netmeister.org/news/learn2quote.html

If Novell get around to changing the copyright on the wiki, so that Novell doesn't claim copyrght of submissions, you would not need to do anything for LGPL stuff other than cite sources. It is annoying that we can't use open licensed images. Pflodo

depends... (this will sure help you :-) 1) if you think the page is completely out of interest, delete it, write a notice on deletion explaining shortly why you did so. if an other writer think you where wrong, hecan undelete and explain. this is the normal wiki way. 2) if you think the page is usefull, but you fear a copyright infringement, write to the people damaged and ask him what to do. Of course if you are sure this is a copyright infringement do as for the 1) only my own point of view, of course :-) jdd -- pour m'écrire, aller sur: http://www.dodin.net http://valerie.dodin.net http://arvamip.free.fr

And you should then improve: http://www.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE:Deletion_Policy if it is not clear. Our own Deletion Policy is based on the Wikipedia one - oops, I hope you won't find that it falls under the category of copyright infringement and we have to delete it :-) We should probably create two more templates: {{nonsense}} to mark pages that are just nonsense (with new users, we are bound to have a lot of these. You know "Hello, Can I really edit here..." type pages. In the Pages for Deletion Category. {{copyright}} for suspected copyright infinging pages. In a Possible Copyright Infringement category. We then need the Administrators to actually look at the Pages to Delete Category, as they are the only ones who can delete pages. Perhaps we should have something like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship Pflodo.

Thanks guys for taking care of this!

For now please just sent a mail to the opensuse-wiki list, as quite some admins are on that list to take action as and when required.
Perhaps we should have something like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship
That might be reasonable ;) [However, we will have to discuss this in the next core team meeting first.] Regards Christoph
