Can you move it to the middle part that is wider, so that lines with links don't break. -- Regards, Rajko -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+help@opensuse.org

Or don't put the newspaper icon on the left, but on top. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 11.2 x86_64 "Emerald" GM (Elessar))

I was thinking the same thing... it is a bit squished.... but how much room is there on the side column? Maybe move the icon... but that breaks the style used elsewhere on the page. I tried to do it a bit both according to the [[Template:Portal]] and to the layout of the Wiki-Portal before my edit (with more boxes on the left and much space on the right). I think I would be able to move the news box to/under "<div style="width:68%; float:left" if it that what you mean. But I think the opinions of all the wiki admins (and some other minors maybe) should be collected first. Maybe you could just make edits and not auto-approve/de-approve them? As I may not look in the (openSUSE-)net for today at all I would propose that the edit according to that possible collection of opinions should be executed by an other. The change is necessary to improve readability of the news section, so this particular issue is likely to get consent. In general: Right column (narrow one) in any portal should be the navigation to related topics and trough "All portals" list connection to the rest of the wiki. Search as navigation aid can find a place there, but nothing more. We should not overload that column with functions. Adding new ways to use right column is the best way to confuse wiki readers, specially those that don't spend much time on the wiki. What we can discuss is what sort order to use for navigation. IMO, good sort is: * Recommended reading (close topics) It can be filled manually or using Intersection extension. * Search For specific items using InputBox extension. * Related topics Listed as category using CategoryTree. * All portals Connection to other topics that are not necessarily related. Current problem with "All portals" listing is that there is no central place to change it. It seems that is time to create a "Template:All portals" that will be included in Template:Portal and part of it, instead of separate subpage. -- Regards, Rajko -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+help@opensuse.org
