[opensuse-wiki] openSUSE Build Service Wiki Entries
I'm going to make a list of any I find as I'm looking for information, and will post that to the list. The Cooking with Kiwi was a big one which Rajko has redirected/fixed today. I must say, when I land on the portal, it's a little hard to know where to go next. I'm not a packager (obviously) so maybe they would know what they want on that page. But there's no clear 'get started' or 'begin packaging' link. https://build.opensuse.org/ this is the one that has an arrow with 'welcome' on my Google search results so I'm seeing it as a landing page. Now that I've found the 'login' in the top corner and logged in, I can see 'my projects'. But it doesn't seem to invite new users to create a login. Maybe it would be more obvious to a programmer. cheers Helen
Which pages are you missing? The entry point for obs docu is: http://en.opensuse.org/Portal:Build_Service

Google search for "buid service" returns (to me): 1) http://en.opensuse.org/Portal:Build_Service 2) http://build.opensuse.org/ Where "(to me)" means: Google knows what I'm looking for trough cookies, so for someone that never tried to look for opensuse build service it can return something else, like some construction company name, or msdn.microsoft.com/en- us/magazine/dd569749.aspx . Btw, interesting topic there "Lessons Learned".

See, you used more some other search direction and results differs.

About: https://build.opensuse.org/ Few icons at the bottom of the "Welcome to the openSUSE Build Service" are eye catcher and looking for Documentation there, I can't find it. Also I would like to see start point named "How to start", "Where to start", "Lets start", or just plain "Start". That one can replace "Create New Project" as there is already one link that will bring me to "My Projects" page that should handle project creation, view existing projects, etc. I read that page as I'm first time there and besides above 2 comments, IMHO intro paragraph is longer then needed, with links dispersed in the text, which is not the best presentation for web readers. They like lists where first word is attention catcher and later text explains it. Nice book like text with links is using user time inefficiently and they don't like it. My source is http://www.useit.com/papers/webwriting/ :) Above article is all list, and I find it easy to parse.
cheers
Helen
