Hey,
Subhashish, a Google Code In student has made the proposal to include a list of popular portals onto the main page so people can get there with fewer clicks. I have implemented this with DynamicPageList in the Template:Portal_footer. It's online on the main page. What do you think?

Henne,
That looks awesome. I think a lot of people will find this to be very useful, including myself.
Thanks!

Since this is on the main page, is it worth using the dplcache option in the Template? DPL can put a huge load on a wiki server, and something like this isn't data/information that changes rapidly (e.g. hourly). Maybe a one week cache, or even longer might be sufficient?

Statistics is always a great thing to have! According to http://en.opensuse.org/Category:Portals, we have 55 portals. and two portal templates. The list of popular portals shows 40. Leaving 15 unpopular portals:
ARM Ambassadors Apache Cloud Foundation Kernel LXDE Libstorage Linux Marketing Meetings Mirrors Multimedia OEM SUSE Manager
How do we define popular?
thanks, JW-

Another column doesn't fit onto 1024x768.

We don't. DynamicPageList does by page hits :)
