[opensuse-wiki] mailing list descriptions
I would like to suggest that the mailing list descriptions be a little more in-depth, while learning how to communicate with the community a "n00b" like my self could use the aid of being told upfront as to what is an acceptable post to particular list. i.e. opensuse-wiki = you can post comments about the content of the "wikisite" or suggestions for improvements as well as found bugs here. The one line descriptions aren't sufficient. -- James Tremblay Director of Technology Newmarket School District Newmarket,NH http://en.opensuse.org/Education "let's make a difference" --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+help@opensuse.org

Agree that short descriptions are appropriate for insiders, but there was discussion before how to make listing shorter and easier to navigate and present is what we came up after few iterations. Not all lists are for new users, so few that are or might be, need extended descriptions and link them with main template: [[Mail list descriptions#opensuse | more ...]] [[Mail list descriptions#opensuse-wiki | more ...]] etc, and in: Mail list descriptions#opensuse This is support list for installation and configuration issues, from operating system and applications to issues with particular hardware. Help is provided by other users, some open source enthusiasts, other professionals in IT industry, but here they all act on their own time, which has to be taken in consideration writing the question. Issue description should be detailed to some extent, like SUSE version, computer name .... What do you think about idea? -- Regards, Rajko. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+help@opensuse.org

Am I sure that I'm a "n00B", yep I'm sure. I make stupid mistakes daily, including posting to the wrong lists and I have even hijacked a thread or two :( As for the mailing lists description proposal, It sounds like what I would like , a chance to click on "more" and get more....
