[opensuse-wiki] Guidelines workout
Hello, Well this is just an overview about the Wiki Guidelines (from my prospective) so as to have an idea of the entire work which is to be carried out. And mind well this is an draft so changes will be there and at the same time are welcome. There are might be certain things which I forgot to mention and something similar can always be there. Note : http://en.opensuse.org/Template:Guidelines The entire workout is based on this link . We have four main topics as follows ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *======> General Guidelines-Look in the attachement or link for more info* ======> List -A list of guidelines to be created on a separate page. Like Weekly news guidelines , etc ======> Help : namespace , proper way of dealing and showcase it in a better way *======> Article Guidelines-Look in the attachement or link for more info* ======> Delete - When the pages are generally deleted and why . ======> Editing - Proper guidance on editing ======> Namespaces & Content -Help with proper naming of the article and what kind content should be there ======> FlaggedRevsIf its there ======> Style guidelines- This should include a definite layout and other required items. ======> openSUSE:Wiki_Translation_Guide - Translation guidelines , namespace can be changed later on. ======> Categorization-How the articles should be categorized *======> Templates Guidelines-Look in the attachement or link for more info* ======> Style guidelines - This should include a definite layout and other required items. ======> Namespaces & Content -Help with proper naming of the article and what kind content should be there ======> Translation - This should mention what and how to be translated ======>Categorization-How the articles should be categorized *======> Communication Guidelines-Look in the attachement or link for more info* ======> Etiquettes ======>And so .. So this the layout . The attachment and the link contains the workout .Both are same added just for ease of use. After the editions are made and the things are finalised the process can be started. /Preferable medium of queries will be IRC.But ML is always the first choice :) / Online GoogleDoc link - http://bit.ly/92Ybcp -- Regards, Shayon Mukherjee openSUSE Wiki Team http://en.opensuse.org/User:Wwarlock Email: hkwarlock@gmail.com Twitter: ShayonM
I like the ideas laid out in the document. I have some of my own suggestions. Take them for what it's worth. I noticed the overview mentioned an intro, I think this is good. I think at the top of the document, we need an intro so the reader can determine, with out reading the entire document, if this is what they are looking for. Now I didn't see this mentioned at all. Wikipedia uses this a lot, and I think it's a fine idea. I think we need to include footnotes and references in the article. I don't think an article should be approved with FlaggedRev, with out the footnotes and references. That's just my 2 cents on the subject. On Wed, 2009-12-09 at 16:06 +0530, Shayon Mukherjee wrote:
