[opensuse-wiki] major wiki pages
Hello, The openSUSE servers are changing fast, faster than the wiki can do..., as do the way problems are handled :-) so I beg we need a rewriting of some major wiki pages. * I really don't understand the difference between the "Documentation, Support, Support Database, Contact" menu entries in the en home page. Support and contact should probably be merged under "communication", database is a documentation part. "Documentation" is a "static" part (RTFM), contact and/or communication is an active (Q&A) part. * http://en.opensuse.org/Installation is now mainly managed by the "get it" server. It should probably be intersting to have a new left menu entry "post-install" with, may be, a lot of one clic links, like "install compiz", "install video readers", "install community repositories"... and a link "read community page" linking to the mp3/lidvcss stuff in the community wiki. however I didn'nt follow closely the one clic install stuff and don't know exactly what one can do with it and how easy it's to setup. Sems to me one of the most powerfull thing in the world :-)) jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://clairedodin.voices.com/ http://www.clairedodin.com/ http://claire.dodin.net/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+help@opensuse.org

People searching for the keyword "support" or "help" will not recognise "communication" as what they are looking for. support and help can be in the page, and most search go to the archives, not these pages anyway jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://clairedodin.voices.com/ http://www.clairedodin.com/ http://claire.dodin.net/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+help@opensuse.org

Jean, Communicate or communication is far miss as replacement for meaning behind words support or help. Support as a link on main page usually contain few items and one of them is "Contact us" and on page "Contact us" should be listed official company contacts, for some legal/copyright questions, and community for all other different stuff. The other items can be something like: - Live help, links to IRC channels - Mail help, links to mail lists - Web Forum help, links to openSUSE forums - Help Documentation Separate help web page that is only few links that lead back to above locations is somewhat strange solution. -- Regards, Rajko.
