Site terms are still not GFDL compatible.
The Wiki update is a big improvement, however there is still the bit in the Terms of Site (http://en.opensuse.org/Terms_of_Site), that would be good to remove as it prevents posting material that is under various free licenses, as Novell makes the following claim for User Submissions: "Novell and its designees will be free to copy, disclose, distribute, incorporate and otherwise use the communications and all data, images, sounds, text and other things embodied therein for any and all commercial or non-commercial purposes." In other words anything you post will be licensed under GFDL, to everybody except Novell who can use the material as they wish (ie you can't post images, text from GFDL licensed sources, unless you also own copyright) Peter 'Pflodo' Flodin

No not really, because Novell expressly grants all documentation an items on the wiki as being GFDL. Even the notice at the bottom of the page states that these are contributed pages, and members are not acting on Novell's behalf. "Novell either owns the intellectual property rights in the HTML, text, images, audio, video, software and other content that is made available on this web site, or has obtained the permission of the owner of the intellec-tual property." The terms of the GFDL grant this permission. The only statement I have issue with is: "Novell strictly prohibits the redistribution or copying of any part of this web site or content on this web site without written permission from Novell. Novell authorizes You to display on Your computer, download and print pages from this web site provided the copyright notice appears on all such printouts and the information will not be altered and the content is only used for personal, educational and non-commercial use and will not redistribute or copy to any other media. Permission to use Documents (such as white pa-pers, press releases, datasheets and FAQs) from this web site must be obtained first by sending a request to permission@novell.com." Now THAT should definitely go, not only to ensure GFDL compliance, but also because it gives me that DRM-ish, I-just-bought-a-cd-and-they-tell-me-when-how-and-where-i-can-use-it feeling. Joseph M.
