Dear openSUSE Security Team,
why is the URL
http://en.opensuse.org/Security
without any content?
Today I got my new Linux Magazin 11/10 (www.linux-magazin.de). When I was reading the "InSecurity News" on page 20 I saw the entries for openSUSE. As I tested the URL mentioned above I saw only the "Can't find what you are looking for?"-nopage-page.
And if I am not logged in the wiki or in Novell/openSUSE and search for "Security" I get just not any pages that make much sense: http://en.opensuse.org/index.php?title=Special%3ASearch&redirs=0&search=Security&fulltext=Search&ns0=1&ns102=1
Only if I am logged in and due to my preferences to search also in the openSUSE namespace I get something like: http://en.opensuse.org/index.php?title=Special%3ASearch&redirs=0&search=Security&fulltext=Search&ns0=1&ns4=1&ns100=1&ns102=1&title=Special%3ASearch&advanced=1&fulltext=Advanced+search
Kind Regards Martin Seidler

Oh and perhaps create such a page, based on old-en.o.o/Security?
Since the URL is printed in LinuxMagazin, this sounds like a very good idea. Unfortunately I don't have the time to write an article and I don't see an obvious redirect target, so I'll leave this job to someone else. http://old-en.opensuse.org/Security would be a good template for Portal:Security, but we still need /Security - maybe just as redirect to the portal.
The friendly message for non-existing pages should have a pointer to old-en.opensuse.org too -- wasn't it implemented that way a while ago?
It is broken for non-logged in users, probably since the update to 1.16. See my mail "Mediawiki:Noarticletext ignored/broken" from monday for details and how to fix it. Regards, Christian Boltz --

I do not know anybody being in change for doing anything. But if so wanted me to I can import content (including history and authors) of http://old-en.opensuse.org/Security to http://en.opensuse.org/Security or to http://old-en.opensuse.org/Portal:Security (what would be an old normal article structure on a portal page that would need some kicks to become a real portal). Would there be anybody/any bodies (not in charge or in change) able and willing to take a look at it and update it if necessary? (By the way: according to the heise/c't article on the 11.3 version the firewall has become a bit 'sharper' - and the article on http://en.opensuse.org/SuSEfirewall2 needs obviously also a bit additional content (especially the parts consisting only of a headline and "..."). And what do you think of an redirect from [[Firewall]] to [[SuSEfirewall2]]?) I copied it over to /Security now ... Not sure if it should be a Portal:Security page? Comments? I also fixed the text and links and updated it a bit, but it needs more love. :/ Ciao, Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+help@opensuse.org

Ciao, Marcus
I created Portal:Security and moved content there. Feel free to improve. Regards, R. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+help@opensuse.org
