[opensuse-wiki] New "Need consent" tag in transition table
Some types of article is not defined how to handle, some are questionable and what one community member will delete, the other will preserve as community history. Some articles are transient content, like: http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE_Launch_Party_Locations Ditto, to speed up reviews I added that tag so that reviewer can go on while we can discuss how to handle specific type of article. This will raise questions: Where to discuss such problems? Is opensuse-project is good place, or we should go broader. Use Forums and opensuse@opensuse.org ?? In what namespace belongs historic material? In what namespace, or even another server to put transient content that is obsolete after the event? Where to document procedure? I'd say opensuse-wiki and/or -project is a sufficient place for discussing these. We may think about establishing the Wiki forum at forums.o.o a bit earlier for that purpose if that's desired by Wiki seniors. Let me know.
In what namespace belongs historic material?
In what namespace, or even another server to put transient content that is obsolete after the event?
I believe we have no Namespace for these in place yet? Two ideas: Creating a Namespace "Archives:" and move or simply get rid of the content, e.g. http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE_Launch_Party_Locations anyways has no more value for the community IMO.

The discussions should be enough documentation from my perspective or what do you feel sufficient here as an additional documentation? If we assume to create a Namespace "Archives:" the reviewer could place a moving request to the table OR mark it as "not transferred" if we decide to get rid of such content.

I was missing such forum few times since wiki cleanup action begun. I'm sure that 90% of forum guys are annoyed with IRC and mail lists for some reason, so I vote for it and as soon as possible. While the idea about funneling article changes automatically to such forum looks appealing, it is probably more trouble then benefits. I think that is better to use forum as place for wiki maintenance guys and in that case I like the idea a lot.

I see here 3 types of articles. One are miscellaneous instructions, tips, etc, that are obsolete after release is dropped from support. We want them only if we can assume that someone will need them one day. I'm almost sure that after 5 years there will be very few request. Second is something like Weekly News, that should be readable, but out of sight after period of time. For those we should have some kind of archive, either server, or namespace Archive. Third are like launch parties invitations and schedule., bound to release day and when party is over no one needs invitation. For the large community as ours it is good idea to have such things advertised in any corner, but IMO one article should be enough, in other words old schedule should sink in article history. One page and one link from outside will help to have one always current link on the web sites.

I just took care about that one at the team area at forums.o.o .. should be a matter of days and we should have the wiki forum up and running. Watch out your private email for more details ;-)

See above. As of the QA: this has been discussed/decided as an integral and important part of our strategy for the new wiki and while I see your concern from an implementation perspective we should do everything we can do to get this up and running. Let's discuss this once we're dealing with the implementation details. That said, I'd feel it appropriate to organize a meeting with you, me and forums people at some point in time to discuss how to achieve this and organize testing and stuff (RSS providing and grabbing, test environment and such)

+1, IMO we can get rid of those.

+1, I rely on your estimation about best opportunities here. Just go forward. That said, if you'd like to know my opinion, I myself would prefer Archives namespace for these.
