[opensuse-wiki] Colon in category Title
Hi Guys, I see multiple Category with colon in title. Eg. Category:SDB:Network. I feel this is not correct, but I can't find anything in the Guidelines about it. So what will be the guideline on this? Category should be Category:Network and should become a sub-category of Category:SDB... right? I discussed a few weeks ago on IRC, but I can't remember the outcome off this and I feel it needs to be discussed with more then 1 men ;) (I'm asking this, because there are network related topics, that do not belong to SDB:, so forcing me to create Category:Network) Greatings, Tim -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+help@opensuse.org

That's because there is no rule for category names and the colon is just a part of the name in this case (technically).

The SDB uses its own category structure which starts at SDB:, you shouldn't break that up. In general there are a lot of questions open about the SDB. I hope that someday someone will step up and take ownership over this topic. Preferably someone who has to use it on a daily basis (someone who does a lot of support). Until then i would leave it like it is... Henne -- Henne Vogelsang, openSUSE. Hi all, I've been out of the running for a while. But back again! I did some thinking about the issue I appointed earlier. As I read on the forums, it is still not clear what to do, remove or keep the namespace notation in category. I created a proposal article: http://en.opensuse.org/Help:Namespace_category_proposal (Spyhawk was already so eager to transfer it form openSUSE: to Help:) So, let's have a vote: 1) Remove all namespace notation in Category 2) Or structure it according my proposal article. I will put an post on the forum on this. (maybe continue the discussion there?) http://forums.opensuse.org/english/community/opensuse-wiki- discussions/440911-category-definition-category-side-example- howto.html#post2181599 Greetings, Tim On Tuesday, August 17, 2010 01:12:14 pm pistazienfresser (see profile) wrote:
