[opensuse-wiki] Move Weekly News to new Instance
Hello Mates, atm i´m busy with moving Weekly News to the new Instance. Now we located in openSUSE:Weekly_News. But i´ve two Questions: 1.) Is it possible to simplify the Transfer? Maybe Script or so... Otherwise we must import every Weekly News and 4 Languages under en.o.o by hand. 2.) How can i use the http://wiki.opensuse.org/Template:Teams? If i put {{Teams}} into my Startpage, i don´t can change the Icon and Description. I think i make anything false... -- Sincerely yours Sascha Manns open-slx GmbH openSUSE Community & Support Agent openSUSE Marketing Team Blog: http://saigkill.wordpress.com Web: http://www.open-slx.de (openSUSE Box Support German) Web: http://www.open-slx.com (openSUSE Box Support English)

I felt so.So are you the only one or other members of Weekly news team are migrating too.Well I would like to help here , but not now :-) (time to sleep) . Waiting to hear about any new "Scripts" . . .

You are right its not possible to change , which I figured out too while I was busy with Portal:Teams. But didn't get time to mention,so thanks for asking. Now, that we know the content is dynamic so I feel a boilerplate would be a possible way to figure this out.So If we require , that said 100% sure. Then I would ask the 'concern' to make the changes or the addition for the same.If no , I would like to know the other way (anyone) :-) -- Regards SJ (Shayon) openSUSE http://en.opensuse.org/User:wwarlock/ http://shayonj.wordpress.com/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+help@opensuse.org

If no scripts are available then one possible way could be , for example - 'Divide and Migrate' say Weekly News 1-10 X does , then 11-20 Y does and so on . Similarly for the rest 4 languages. Hello Mates,
atm i´m busy with moving Weekly News to the new Instance. Now we located in openSUSE:Weekly_News.
Thanks to the efforts of Wiki Team, we got a new good-looking instance now. :-) However, I can't login nor sign up wiki.o.o ATM. :-( I may have missed some important informations or announcements on this list, but in order to help transition and edit new pages, I need to login. How can I do that ?

In addition, I haven't fully understand what are needed for localized Weekly News after main Weekly News will move to wiki.o.o. For example, Japanese translations of OWN are now on http://ja.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE_Weekly_News/$ISSUE_NUMBER . Where should we put translations of new issues hereafter and do we need to move archive of the past issues from $LANG.o.o to somewhere on wiki.o.o ? Done. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=605586 You can try to delete all opensuse.org Cookies and then try a relogin with you normal account. Maybe that helps...

Thanks for your advice, but that didn't help. :-( I closed Firefox, renamed ~/.mozilla, restarted Firefox -- that means, I started Firefox with a totally new profile -- and tried to login on wiki.o.o once again, but this didn't help, either. In addition, I created a new account and tried to login with the new account, but couldn't login to wiki.o.o (I could login to en.o.o with the new account, though). So, I think this problem is not due to client side problem, but due to iChain or authority settings. Could it be that only users who have 'sysop' privilege on wiki are permitted to login to wiki.o.o ATM ? # I don't have sysop privilege on wiki. The http://wiki.opensuse.org and http://en.opensuse.org will be switched on Jun 1st. That means that you can translate in the current wiki and Sascha can move that 2-3 issues after the switch. Hello Mates,
atm i´m busy with moving Weekly News to the new Instance. Now we located in openSUSE:Weekly_News.
Thanks to the efforts of Wiki Team, we got a new good-looking instance now. :-)
However, I can't login nor sign up wiki.o.o ATM. :-(
I may have missed some important informations or announcements on this list, but in order to help transition and edit new pages, I need to login. How can I do that ?
There was a bug with accounts that didn't login to wiki.o.o before which should be fixed now.
But i´ve two Questions:
1.) Is it possible to simplify the Transfer? Maybe Script or so... Otherwise we must import every Weekly News and 4 Languages under en.o.o by hand.
2.) How can i use the http://wiki.opensuse.org/Template:Teams? If i put {{Teams}} into my Startpage, i don´t can change the Icon and Description. I think i make anything false...
Where should we put translations of new issues hereafter and do we need to move archive of the past issues from $LANG.o.o to somewhere on wiki.o.o ?
wiki.o.o will just replace en.o.o for now, so no articles from the language wikis need to be moved there. At the moment, we are migrating the pages manually by copying the wiki source. It would be cool to have a script doing this, but we don't have one yet. Maybe we can create something for that next week.

It is a boilerplate template, and can be chosen when creating a new page.
