[opensuse-wiki] overview page

Hi, I think it will be interesting to have a page in wiki for each language which include all the names of pages in the English edition. It should be automaticaly generate, and could include if English pages have been modified and other information. The estructure of table for represent that could be anything like this: #English page name#Updated (yes/no)#Date of last change#Date of last translation (for the language)#Last translator#Actual manteiner#Asigned to#Any other information It's that possible? is there a page like this, already? I can't make it because I haven't enought knowledge about programing language (but I promise to translate all pages I can ;-) ). I suggest that because I think it's too complicate to translate a page if we don´t know which are untraslated, and I also think that is a good way to control traslation (for a coordinator if it exist). greatings, Santi

We should use a interwiki bot who will take care of that. It's on my 2do list but i'm quite busy right now. Without a bot i don't see how to manage all the translation. -- with kind regards, ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin Lasarsch, Subsystems SUSE LINUX GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5 90409 Nuremberg martin.lasarsch@suse.de ---------------------------------------------------------------------- simply change to www.suse.de --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki-unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki-help@opensuse.org

translating the pages is not really a problem (I made a lot of them :-), I use to copy the english page in my (fr) wiki and go from there. following the red links gives most pages. But there are two problems: * some pages changes simply too fast to be possible to follow. I don't translate the factiry/development branch (anyway one must read english to follow/work with bugzilla...) * it's _very_ difficult to follow the _changes_ in already translated pages. I have yet to find a way. on a wiki any page can change (including the translated one, independently from the other) and if the change is small it can easily get unseen. also the translation necessarily changes the page layout (at least a little), so finding where to translate the change is very difficult. I have no solution if not leaving the pages live they life alone :-( jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://dodin.org/galerie_photo_web/expo/index.html http://lucien.dodin.net http://fr.susewiki.org/index.php?title=Gérer_ses_photos --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki-unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki-help@opensuse.org
