[opensuse-wiki] Review needed for certain pages...!?!
Hello ppl, While i was checking the articles,i came across few pages which i suppose needs a kind of extra attention by the daily contributors/experienced wiki maintainers, because i dont find any alternative to deal with it.So i thought of creating a Template and a Category on it-The links are as follows -- Template-http://en.opensuse.org/Template:Review Category-http://en.opensuse.org/Category:Pages_that_need_review ::If the editor/author/maintainer thinks that the page(s) needs a special attention ,then he can add the template REVIEW so that the daily contributors/senior wiki maintainers, will have a look at it and find a possible way to deal with it.So that the reader(s) dont get confused or dont face any kind of difficulty while reading. Note:I have just made a TEST.If at all ,if you all feel its not a satisfactory step.I can delete each and every single page which i created. :) Warm Regards Wwarlock(Shayon) "FOR THE BETTERMENT OF openSUSE" -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+help@opensuse.org

Good job. BTW, when you put links in email it is better if there is one space between previous text and the link, like this: Template http://en.opensuse.org/Template:Review Category http://en.opensuse.org/Category:Pages_that_need_review That way email client makes link that we can click on and open in browser. The way you did Kmail treated all as a text.
If the editor/author/maintainer thinks that the page(s) needs a special attention ,then he can add the template REVIEW so that the daily contributors/senior wiki maintainers, will have a look at it and find a possible way to deal with it.
Once again thanks for initiative. This is one of templates that we need. Maybe just to use name "Needs review", to make make name "Review" available for template that can be used to enhance articles that are actually review of something, for instance software, hardware, work flow, usability, methods, solutions, installation etc. The problem with any article title, or uploaded file, on the wiki is to choose name that is not too simple which leads to ambiguity and requires page moves later on, or too complex which creates problems to remember and use. To avoid problems with simple (generic) names, I use simple rule: Avoid generic terms and single words. If they appear as the most suitable then do research using Wikipedia and Google, ask around for opinions. -- Regards, Rajko OpenSUSE Wiki Team: http://en.opensuse.org/Wiki_Team People of openSUSE: http://en.opensuse.org/People_of_openSUSE/About -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+help@opensuse.org

Yes i get it ,actually after writing the mail i thought that i would have left few space between the words. But then it was late.:)

Regarding the above concern i have moved the Review page to http://en.opensuse.org/Template:Needs_Review (needs review-new page),after googling a bit.Well now i am just waiting for some more opinions. :). Sorry, Shayon, I'm trying to become useful (reading the MediaWiki stuff). I looked at your review page, but haven't yet looked with a critical eye. I'll try to get to it today. The method to do that should be developed first, and it will be as part of Rupert's effort. In general editors that want to do that should either: - bookmark category - is private method as nobody knows who is willing to work on it - add link to their user page - is public as anybody can see what user pages have links to category Then they can check when they have time for review marked articles, or to find somebody to do that if level of expertise is beyond editors. -- Regards, Rajko OpenSUSE Wiki Team: http://en.opensuse.org/Wiki_Team People of openSUSE: http://en.opensuse.org/People_of_openSUSE/About -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+help@opensuse.org

Ohk fine then,i suppose assigning of such duties should be done in the WIKI MEETING.So that everyone will be clear with it. Best Shayon -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+help@opensuse.org

Wiki meeting or this mail list, but as I said this is one of ideas that Boosters Team and Rupert have in mind as mandatory to make wiki good documentation source. -- Regards, Rajko OpenSUSE Wiki Team: http://en.opensuse.org/Wiki_Team People of openSUSE: http://en.opensuse.org/People_of_openSUSE/About -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+help@opensuse.org
