[opensuse-wiki] AMD articles: please review HCL and suggestion about SDB:RadeonHD
Hello all, I'm still working on the AMD articles (HCL and SDB). I edited the HCL:AMD article by copying hardware compatability info from the SDB:articles and wish to go on, by deleting this information from the SDB articles themselves. I think this way the HCL article is easier to maintain. It is imho beyond our reach to maintain an updated article with every netbook, desktop or laptop with AMD graphical hardware. So please review the HCL article. Then I know how to edit the SDB articles coering the drivers. I also have a suggestion for the SDB:Radeonhd article. Are there nowadays circumstances where you'd better use radeonhd instead of radeon? I think not, if I read this from the Xorg radeonhd wiki: Status 09/2010: Linux distributions, including Novell's openSUSE, have now abandoned radeonhd as the default driver, instead using the radeon driver. radeon has more features, including Kernel Mode-Setting support and more 3D support, and it supports all Radeon generation from original R100 Radeons to R800 Radeons (HD 5000 series). Radeonhd can be continued to be updated as long as there are people find it useful. My suggestion would be to archive this page and to delete links from the other AMD graphical hardware articles to this radeonhd article. I don't know how to archive a page, so perhaps someone can explain this shortly or perhaps do this by him- or herself? Greetings and best wishes to all of you out there. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+owner@opensuse.org
Hello all, if you are looking for up to date information about AMD driver, i would suggest to look into the German wiki: https://de.opensuse.org/SDB:AMD/ATI-Grafiktreiber Sebastian Siebert is as a openSUSE Member maintainer for AMD packageing scripts and author of this wiki page. He has also his own webpage: http://www.sebastian-siebert.de/ Best Regards Wolfgang openSUSE Member DE-Wiki-Team Am Mittwoch, 15. Mai 2013, 13:02:47 schrieb Andre Kaper en Edith Smit:
