[opensuse-wiki] openSUSE Build Service Wiki Entries
Hi folks, I'm working on articles about the openSUSE Build Service. I'm finding the Wiki a little confusing (I don't know what's on old wiki and what's on new one) and lots of dead or empty pages. I know empty pages are a feature of wikis but it isn't a particularly nice new user experience, espeically when you are hoping to learn something from that page! So I know everyone is really busy, but can I ask that OBS is made something of a priority over the next little while, if it isn't already? If the article goes to print, it will hopefully generate a lot of interest so we'll want the documentation to be sparkling. I'm not sure when my article will go to print (Maybe December, if it's accepted?) but also, the OBS is the focus of a lot of attention at the moment, especially at the conference, so I think it's worth focusing on. Once I've got the most urgent marketing stuff and the OBS article out of the way, I hope to start contributing to the wiki, but right now the conference and OBS is almost a full time job! cheers, Helen -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+help@opensuse.org

I was looking at the article http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Build_Service_KIWI and all there is in http://en.opensuse.org/Portal:KIWI so I changed openSUSE:Build_Service_KIWI to be redirect to portal page. I'm not sure that is good, but if there is some external link pointing to this page it will be redirected to right place. The article itself should be more for Build Service KIWI team use, something like work page, what they plan, how they are organized, etc. Portals are some kind of main page for topic, in this case Portal:KIWI is introduction to all that is written about KIWI and it is intended for public consumption, for wiki visitors and to be used as link from external references (web pages, paper docs). Fixed FAQ. It is not yet what I would like, but this will work as a hot fix. It is present in navigation, and Random answer is moved to wide section of the articles, so that external links don't run out of the screen. I have to see what to do with news page. Any proposals where to find a RSS/Atom feed for that page. Pshingal? (Hopefully he is subscribed to wiki ML)

I hope that you have time to fix links in the article. If not http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Build_Service_KIWI will be set in the stone as redirect to portal page, and if anyone needs place to post about plans etc. they will have to use some other page.
Once I've got the most urgent marketing stuff and the OBS article out of the way, I hope to start contributing to the wiki, but right now the conference and OBS is almost a full time job!
cheers,

Which pages are you missing? The entry point for obs docu is: http://en.opensuse.org/Portal:Build_Service Greetings -- Thomas Schmidt (tom [at] opensuse.org) openSUSE Boosters Team "Don't Panic", Douglas Adams (1952 - 11.05.2001) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+help@opensuse.org
