The front page redesign, or better to say design, should be one of tasks for the site design project. Why design, because now we have Download page as front page. Download link should be prominent, but not a portion of what is now. Report a Bug link should be present in all related sections, like Developer, User, Problems, but never on the front page. The graphic design can't be done without clear ideas what are top categories that we want to present to opensuse.org visitors. Here is illustration how simple can be the front page design: http://en.opensuse.org/List_of_Proposal_Pages/Graphic001 It was generated during experiments with GIMP. Background graphic is too dark, and jumps out of openSUSE graphic concept, but gives one idea what I mean under simplification. Next will be more in style with the rest of opensuse.org, and make use of image links introduced by Pflodo. Words Wiki, Users, Developers, openSUSE are used without much thoughts and can be accompanied with few more, or replaced with completely different set. The idea is to identify anonymous visitors of the front page and better adjust second level indexes to talk to specific audience. For instance, word "Problem?" can link to help, pages and unlike "Support" majority of visitors will understand what that means and can't be confused with paid support for retail versions. Word "Users" will talk about basics and projects that are related to use of openSUSE. -- Regards, Rajko.
