Another alternative is to simply redirect users straight to the email validation page. What does everyone think?
That should be the best case.
The only problem can be with the forums.o.o users. Do they validate email when subscribe to forums, or they use some equally efficient method to prevent creation of fake accounts?
@Rajko: I do not completely understand your intention. Are you worring about forum users that may spam the forums or former forum users that may spam the wiki or just thinking if someone could use a fake-email to subscribe to the forums and if not if the wiki can adopt that potential/maybe-existing prevention measure ? I do not recall my forums accreditation but I think I had just the novell accout first. That seems to me the way today, too: http://forums.opensuse.org/ :

I presume the forum is just not so attractive for spam or/and the many moderators and the report-function on every posting are just enough.
