Team, on June 1st we'll release the new wiki at wiki.o.o to the public, i.e. we'll switch the DNS to en.o.o. Thus it's time to prepare the PR side of things and come up with an announcement. I'll prepare it and I'm going to post it in parallel to the actual DNS switch on June 1st to news.o.o, opensuse-project ml and the forums (suggestions welcome for additional channels). That said, I'm looking forward to get brainstorming input from the team about what we actually have to present to the public on June 1st. I certainly will take care of the usual "social motivation and sexy presentation" but from a technical perspective I'd appreciate a kind of a list of new features and enhancements. Please try to provide answers on questions like 1. Why is the new wiki that great? 2. Why should people visit it? 3. What differs from the experience of the old wiki at en.o.o? 4. ... let your brain sputter :-) Gathering input on this should lead to a pretty cool presentation of the new wiki. I hope to utilize the momentum such an announcement generates in order to raise community's attention, i.e. to gain new contributors for the rest of the transtion from the, then archived, old wiki. I'll trigger Marketing (in CC:) to support us with Microblogging etc. in order to spread the news as much as we can at launch date. The announcement should be ready until last weekend of May, so gathering brainstorming input is open for approx. one week from now on. Thanks a lot in advance to everyone for supporting this, R -- Rupert Horstkötter, open-slx gmbh openSUSE Board Member openSUSE Community Assistant http://en.opensuse.org/User:Rhorstkoetter Email: rhorstkoetter@opensuse.org Jabber: ruperthorstkoetter@googlemail.com -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+help@opensuse.org
