I understand, I am also sure that they would not let me at their code and internal tools. If they do, I switch disto in a hartbeat, because that means others with the same level as I have can change stuff. I don't trust myself. :-)
this is the way opensource works. of course not anybody can be allowed to _modify_ the code, but anybody is allowed to _look at_ the code. right now yast sources are pretty hard to install (many different modules, no standard install location - should be in /usr/src)
If I would change something and do a stupid typo, like http://en.opensuse/org instead of http://en.opensuse.org
anybody can do stupid typo. and some are there in yast (few, of course, hopefully :-).
Checking these things will cost the same time, if not more then jst filing a bug.
are you saying the community in unable to help? how does Debian works? how do you think localized wikis works? For example digiKam, a great photl management programm is the study work of a student. do you think He should have been excluded from Kde for that? I'll open an other thread jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://dodin.org/galerie_photo_web/expo/index.html http://lucien.dodin.net http://fr.susewiki.org/index.php?title=Gérer_ses_photos
