This might be better in a separate thread as Freek mentioned. I'm still collecting mandatory pages, as published list on: http://languages.opensuse.org/Help:Translation is not complete. List doesn't contain all pages, images, templates and categories that one needs to start translation. The plan is to create set of pages similar as that list, plus templates, images, categories and upload/import on each of language wikis. That way you as translator have to think only about your wiki, plus to add interwiki links in English wiki to pages that are already translated. This we will work on when you finish first page. Pages will be named LANG-English_title where for Greek that will be EL-English_title and that will be just redirect to actual page title in Greek. As there are pages that use sufix like Portal: or SDB: adding language prefix LANG should be handled differently, and that is main reason that I want to upload all pages modified for each language. For me is problem categorization of pages, as I would like to have them comparable to English wiki, but they don't allow redirects. So we will have to create 2 sets of categories, one for pages that begin with LANG prefix and one for translated. First set can be created and uploaded as other pages, second will be up to translator to create them on the fly. All above plans should not prevent you to start translation and ask questions as they arise. I think that way you will translate and learn at the same time, instead to go and learn a lot of translation and wiki stuff at once, then translate. You are first translators after long time that have to start from scratch, so we will help you in translation, and you will help us to learn what issues we have to put in help files for other translators and how to improve translation process. I'm sure that it will be not easy for any of involved, but no hurry, keep having a fun, and all will be good. -- Regards, Rajko -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+help@opensuse.org
