[opensuse-web] Request: Allow to upload compressed files to the wiki
Hi. I want to upload the translation team glossary in XLIFF format to the Spanish wiki so it can be uploaded later to Weblate or downloaded for local use. The problem is that "xlf" is not one of the allowed extensions, and you can't upload compressed files either. Would it be possible to allow archives upload? Note: the wiki is smart enough to recognize the file format, so tricks like changing the file extension doesn't work (and that's good anyway). Greetings. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-web+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-web+owner@opensuse.org

You could try to upload it to susepaste instead, and post a link in the wiki. Maybe uncompressed. Susepaste does not have logins, so you can not delete your own file. So upload for a limited time, say a year, and remember to upload new or same version a year later ;-) If not, an alternative is google drive. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. R. Hi. I'll create a new page in the wiki and copy the file content there to not depend on external sites. I'm not going to register on any site just to upload a file and get a link for the wiki. Greetings. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-web+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-web+owner@opensuse.org

susepaste doesn't need registration. AFAIK, it is not possible to register. If that file format is accepted, it would be a good place. About everybody has a google drive account :-p I have one for mail on lists, I have used it more than once to share files with people on Internet. Even to upload a whole virtual machine for testing a bugzilla! -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 42.3 x86_64 "Malachite" at Telcontar)

Yes, I use it frequently for short live pastes. I could paste the file content there, but I can do the same in the wiki as I've already done¹. A direct link is more convenient but copying and pasting the text is not a drama anyway.

Not me :). Really, I don't need any online storage service currently.

You don't have an Android phone? :-) It comes with it.

You can add it to projects in Weblate for example. I chose it because the format is simple and allows notes. Greetings. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-web+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-web+owner@opensuse.org

it comes with a google account. it is provided on an Android phone because the phone needs a google account. an email account is enough. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet freenode -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-web+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-web+owner@opensuse.org

I think we must have better tools / ways of doing this then using the wiki, maybe uncompressed somewhere on the openSUSE github is a better place. -- Simon Lees (Simotek) http://simotek.net Emergency Update Team keybase.io/simotek SUSE Linux Adelaide Australia, UTC+10:30 GPG Fingerprint: 5B87 DB9D 88DC F606 E489 CEC5 0922 C246 02F0 014B
