I normally try to avoid the rudeness that is the styling of most web forums, but as the openSUSE mailing lists have been slow lately, I thought I'd give one a go. I spent more than 15 minutes composing a thread reply[1], clicked the preview button, and for my effort was greeted with a message that my message was too short. All my work had disappeared into the ether. Web forums stink. So does JS, which often defeats the back button, and often empties textareas for no good reason. This precise question has been asked sometimes on the forum about forum help area. It is known, yes. People that have been bitten by it recommend to copy your text to any editor on your desktop, prior to hit "send", so that if it fails, you can paste it an try again. And, if instead of this mail list you tried the main opensuse mail list, which some of the forum moderators read, they could help you as well. Besides that, my personal recommendation: use Thunderbird to access the opensuse forums. Yes, Thunderbird, not Firefox. Or any other nttp client you like - for instance, Seamonkey, claws mail, knode, pan... How? See the FAQ: <https://forums.opensuse.org/faq.php?faq=novfor#faq_nntp> This is a wonderful feature of the Novell forums. (and you will find that rudeness is not tolerated there - that's what moderators are for, mostly :-) ) - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. You misunderstand what I wrote. The rudeness is that of the creators/maintainers of forums. See e.g. to understand my meaning: http://fm.no-ip.com/SS/Suse/opensuseforumthread144-1404.png http://fm.no-ip.com/Tmp/sc-opensuseforums02.html http://fm.no-ip.com/Auth/rudeweb.html -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
