+ longer regular support - current users might encounter some problems (like need to rebuild 3rd party modules) - SLE12 is more mature after more than year, SLE12-SP1 will be relatively fresh
If it was only up to me, I would probably go on with the transition to SLE12-SP1. But I would like to hear from current evergreen-13.1 kernel users and users planning to use Evergreen 13.1 when 13.1 regular support finishes.
Go with SLE12-SP1.
Yes, I agree.
Although I have another machine which I haven't decided yet whether to keep on 13.1 or go to Leap; and this one uses Nvidia and Vmware blobs. I wonder whether the people that maintain those rpms (sp the nvidia one) could rebase them on new kernel, or would we need to use the "hard way" (ie, nvidia.run).
I'm not sure how the nvidia official repo will be handle but at least all recent version can be builded up to 4.1.5 kernel so for 3.12+ it should be easy to be done. We just have to convince either Stephan in charge of nvidia to build them for evergreen or host them somewhere else. -- Bruno Friedmann Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch openSUSE Member & Board, fsfe fellowship GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 irc: tigerfoot -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-web+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-web+owner@opensuse.org
