Hi all, While everyone's hard at work developing the new website, I had some time to spare so I made a draft for a new login page. (The current version appears to be dated 02 Aug 2005!) I'm not sure if there's any demand for it, but I had fun toying with HTML and CSS. :-) Current login page: http://forums.opensuse.org/login/icslogin.php?destination=/ My draft: http://www.pieterdedecker.be/tmp/oslogin/ Let me know what you think. Cheers, Pieter -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-web+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-web+help@opensuse.org

It looks good! Nevertheless, I think that the type of green you used isn't part of the openSUSE colour palette (yours is too bright). http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Artwork_guidelines#Colors Greetings, -- Javier Llorente

MeTooThinksSo: 1) Nicely organized (you can't make it easier to understand) 2) Refreshing color 3) It looks like smartphone ready. How it will look with black strip at the top that should be common to all openSUSE sites? (or should we think about new color, and add some 3D). Dots in list (Forgot your credentials?) should lineup with begin of some of above elements, text or buttons.
Nevertheless, I think that the type of green you used isn't part of the openSUSE colour palette (yours is too bright). http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Artwork_guidelines#Colors
Then we have to add it to the official one :) (or better to define few more) Official is relative term at the current moment, when openSUSE is undergoing changes in every part of it. Current official is boring because it lasts for years, somewhat emotionally depressing (too dark). On both monitors I have, Pieter's selection is nice lively call for action - color.

I think there's conflicting information about the color scheme on the wiki. Compare: http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Artwork_guidelines#Colors (your link) http://en.opensuse.org/Help:Colors (the color scheme I used) I've changed the banner's background color from #94D006 to #8FCF06. I've also tweaked the drop shadow of the page container. If you're not seeing it, that's because it depends on a new property that was introduced in CSS3. Older browsers will just ignore the drop shadow.

I don't think that my current color scheme would work that well with the black bar, but I can't test it. How do I get it on my page? Is there a PHP script I can include or something?

Someone changed Help page, but the colors are the same. Table is a bit messed, fields are not the same size. I added numbers that you can see on Help page. As there was no numbers in original, I used color picker to see them. It is missing web palette by R. Lihm.

Works fine in 11.4.

Unless someone points you to the actual files, you can pick that up from any page source. Besides, I'm not sure that black is the only appropriate color for the top bar.

I put the black bar at the top of the page. I used rules from openSUSE's site stylesheets to increase consistency. I also replaced my own buttons with the nicer built-in buttons from the Bento theme. Notice that if the screen isn't big enough, the black bar will disappear behind the login box. A possible fix would be to hide the black bar when the page height is less than 660 pixels. (I can use jQuery's animation library to do this nicely.) Pieter 2011/3/14 Rajko M. <rmatov101@charter.net>

Hi all, I was looking through the temporary files on my website to see what I could delete. I still have the proposed login redesign I mentioned a month ago: http://www.pieterdedecker.be/tmp/oslogin/ Can my design be used for future site development or is it no longer needed? Thanks, Pieter 2011/3/14 Pieter De Decker <pdedecker@gmail.com>

Hi Pieter, just today we needed to redo the opensuse login page for our new authentication module, and I included some parts of your version. Should get online soon. Thanks!
