Odp: [opensuse-web] wiki editing is fubar
What kind of additions?
All those elements works as they should on normal pages (https://en.opensuse.org/User:Meksykaniec for reference).

No way to designate list items, headings, indents or anything else to cause addtions to appear like they should. Whatever is causing the formatting is and remains invisible.

If you want insert a log, configuration or console output to MediaWiki, you need to wrap the text with <pre></pre> tags. I have updated the page a little bit. You can check it out.

Why is there no indication that there were any of those there before? Why is most of what I tried to add correctly displayed? The old Wiki software was much easier to understand and use. -- "Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Whatever else you get, get wisdom." Proverbs 4:7 (New Living Translation) Team OS/2 ** Reg. It is always the same software: MediaWiki. We just made a new skin for it and the software is still the same and same as Wikipedia. You can submit a bug report at https://github.com/openSUSE/wiki/issues to help improve it. It is an open source project and we need people to participate if they think something is going wrong. If you really think it's an issue with the new skin (I doubt), you can test with the old skin: https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Configuring_graphics_cards?useskin=bento or if you want to check an old version of the page: https://en.opensuse.org/index.php? title=SDB:Configuring_graphics_cards&oldid=121514&useskin=bento On a more general note: If you want <pre>-formatting, you can a) wrap it in <pre>....</pre> or b) add a space at the beginning of the line Both methods work with the new skin. But if you do so, it must be globally unique. globally unique to the application. Hahahahaha!! "Globaly unique" innerhalb meiner Applikation!! Aua!!! Das ist Politiktauglich! [Ratti und > Jeffrey Stedfast]

Hi. I created a set of how-to pages about wiki formatting long ago in the Spanish wiki and they still seem to be working as intended (Firefox 61.0.2). You don't need <pre></pre> tags for multiline pre-formatted text¹, you can use ▒<nowiki> (▒ is a space character at the beginning of the line) and ending </nowiki> in a new line: ▒<nowiki>def function(): """help text""" if True: print True ... </nowiki> The text is, of course, in Spanish, but you can check the result and the page source to see how is everything done: ─ Text format: https://es.opensuse.org/Ayuda:C%C3%B3mo_dar_formato_al_texto ─ Images: https://es.opensuse.org/Ayuda:C%C3%B3mo_a%C3%B1adir_im%C3%A1genes ─ Lists: https://es.opensuse.org/Ayuda:C%C3%B3mo_crear_listas ─ Tables: https://es.opensuse.org/Ayuda:C%C3%B3mo_crear_tablas [1] Unless you want to add some kind of extra formatting to the text (bold, italic, and so on) Greetings. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-web+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-web+owner@opensuse.org
