[opensuse-web] Time to fix opensuse.org landing page

Time to fix link conference announce image. User noticed that link on http://www.opensuse.org/en/ is still pointing to http://conference.opensuse.org/ . BTW, we are short distance from new release and text on http://www.opensuse.org/en/ still has section: openSUSE 11.4 - A New Hallmark For The openSUSE Project Users Directory points to the http://users.opensuse.org/ . The redirection to https://connect.opensuse.org/ is meant for other web pages and links in the corners of our web space. There is no link where users can provide feedback. Good willing users will post message somewhere on the web, hoping that it will find the way to right persons, which will appear in google results without answer and give another notion that openSUSE doesn't care. It seems that moving openSUSE landing page from wiki, or wiki like server, was not all that good idea, after all. -- Regards, Rajko -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-web+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-web+help@opensuse.org

Robert and me are still following this list and may do the changes anytime, and so can anyone with write permissions in SVN. The text on the frontpage can be edited with a text editor without the need to dig through markup: A WYSIWYG editor is implemented. Anyone from the boosters willing to take care of the texts? I would assist with any changes needed to the markup. Greets, Andreas -- http://www.andreas-demmer.de

I'm sure we find some volunteers ;-) Rob

That one is not clear to me. Why one needs built in WYSIWYG editor for front (landing) page?

You and few others had a lot of work with custom page layout for our sites. That was another move that with bigger web team would be good idea, but with only few it actually killed contributions. I was sorry, and not once, that wiki has not lighter customization. Little bits that don't work appear to be a huge effort to fix, a lot of diving into few css files to find culprit. At the end I gave up and just reported problems.
Sure :) I can talk to ambassadors and marketing guys and pick some ideas. -- Regards, Rajko -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-web+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-web+help@opensuse.org

Good idea! I think we need to work on the web-team as well as on our artwork-team. These two teams have from time to time overlapping topics so maybe we can push it together :-/ Cheers, Robert
