Please keep the opensuse front page and the wiki as svn repositories as well, if at all possible. As you may remember, we use subversion to update the material on all of the servers, and none of them have git installed. It would be much easier on us to keep them on subversion.
You might remember my proposal to use a SVN checkout of mediawiki and the extensions we need instead of using a tarball. The advantage would be that a mediawiki update would be as simple as running "svn up" and would even keep openSUSE-specific modifications (IIRC we need a little change in index.php for example). However, this requires that we also checkin the .svn directories - and that's obviously impossible if we use SVN ourself. Therefore using git (or any other version control system) would probably a good idea ;-) I'd say the easier maintenance/update to newer versions saves much more time than you require to install git on the webservers ;-) Regards, Christian Boltz -- Zeichenverarbeitung in der Shell ist _evil_.
