I doubt these messages are related to the hang, but just in case they are - you'd want to blacklist edd.ko (or eliminate whatever leads to it getting loaded; this happening multiple times makes me uncertain where to point you, normally I would have told you to edit INITRD_MODULES in /etc/sysconfig/kernel and re-create the initrd).
