[uyuni-users] Help with Vmware VHM
Can anyone help with this? I have an ESXi server defined as a Vmware VHM in Uyuni 2020.3. As expected the log files show that it cannot connect due to the SSL cert not being trusted. The docs indicate that this will be the case. I extracted the cert and added it to /etc/pki/trust/anchors and ran update-ca-certificates as the docs suggest. Trust list shows the certificate is in the trusted list. Restarted spacewalk-service. But I still get the same error about the SSL certificate not being trusted in the log file Any suggestions? Has anyone successfully configured this? Many thanks! Sent from my BlackBerry 10 smartphone on the O2 network.
It would be very interesting, what command you triggered to get the error and which server is your uyuni server. Just saying you get an ssl error does not help much. I guess you're referring to this page here https://www.uyuni-project.org/uyuni-docs/uyuni/client-configuration/virt-vmw... Either something was wrong while importing the certificates (you should have seen some "added" certs when running "update-ca-certificates" or your esxi server was not using a self signed cert and your are still missing the intermediate certs. The certs within "anchor" directory need to end with ".crt" or ".cer" (if I remember right). Reading the manpage should help. The issue was that as well as importing the certificate for the ESX server it was also necessary to import the certificate for the CA - in this case the vCenter server which issued the certificate to the ESX server. Once that was done everyting worked properly. Thanks to Robert Paschedag for his advice,
