[uyuni-users] Uyuni Master (development) is now based on openSUSE Leap 15.1
Hello, In preparation for the next release of Uyuni, we switched the base OS for Master (the development version) Server and Proxy to openSUSE Leap 15.1 https://www.uyuni-project.org/devel-version.html is now updated showing this. For new installations, please use the new repositories. For older installations remember that updating is not supported, but if you still want to try, replace the repositories at /etc/zypper/repos.d and adjust your synced repositories the server. Please remember that Uyuni Master is intended for development and testing, and not for production. We cannot still give you an exact date for release of the next version, but we expect to have it ready in the next two to four weeks, and it will have big new features such as support for Ubuntu clients, monitoring with prometheus and grafana and much more. Stay tuned! -- Julio González Gil Release Engineer, SUSE Manager and Uyuni jgonzalez@suse.com
Hello, And for openSUSE Leap 15.0 will be a stable version? I am one of unfortunate admin who use devel branch on Leap 15.0 in production without big issues. Thank you. Cristian Gherman On 6/5/19 6:38 PM, Julio González Gil wrote:

Unfortunately, no. We will switch from 42.3 to 15.1 as bases system.

Good to hear that devel is stable enough! :-) However remember it's not intended for production, not only because it can be unstable at any moment, but also because it can't be migrated out of the box (biggest problem is the schema migration) Also remember that 15.0 goes EoL in just a few months, so you will need to migrate anyway: https://en.opensuse.org/Lifetime Depending on your current setup, maybe you will be able to migrate to the stable versions (some users already did it in the past), but it's not officially supported.
Thank you.
