[opensuse] Let me add to the mozilla/Firefox woes on 11.0
Listmates, On one of my 11.0 kde3.5.10 boxes (x86_64) I opened mozilla firefox 3.0.13-01 and it would not render or display any website -- Period. So I added the mozilla repository and updated to 3.5.2-1.2. Same problem. No matter what web site I try and look at, all I get is a blank page. This box has no kde4 on it. I'm writing this from my 11.0 kde4.3 laptop (x86_64) using firefox 3.0.13-0.1 and all is good. Any ideas? Does firefox now rely on some kde4 lib? Thanks. -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. see we are back to loong lines :^) firefox is gnome based, not kde. Anyway, if you have *no* kde4 on *this* system, how could you install or use firefox if it depended on kde4 libs? got that big hammer out again! -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Huh?
It's built with GTK toolkit (Gnome), not QT toolkit (KDE). -- How much better to get wisdom than gold, to choose understanding rather than silver. Proverbs 16:16 NKJV Team OS/2 ** Reg. got that big hammer out again!
I can do some incredible stuff with a tack-hammer at times... OK, so perhaps it is a GTK issue? What to check? -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. I'm using 3.0.13 on 11.1 i586 without any problems. Have you tried a different user account to check if it is a problem with your user? Running 11.0/KDE3.5.9/Firefox3.5.2 on x64 with no problems. Seems to be crashing less often now as well. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
