Anyone using Mantel's 2.4.5 kernel w/ nVidia cards? Did you just have to recompile the kernel module for the nVidia card? I never use kdm I boot to text prompt I mostly use WindowMaker, and kde when Im wondering whats new in kde. dids

Does the 2.4.5 kernel solve the long-outstanding problems with using KDM and the NVidia drivers?

Probably not. It's a problem with the interaction of the nVidia driver and KDM..not the kernel. I just recomplied the Nvidia kernel from the tarball and then it just worked, after a quick reboot though. If it gives issues you can try rebuilding the src rpm and having yast take care of it, that sometimes works too. Matt
