Hi, I'm trying to install 6.4 on a system with a pci video card, and the chipset is labeled S3 Virge with 4 Mb video ram. Sax gets the card going, but the video has vertical lines thru it, and distortion occurs in the mouse path when the mouse is moved. I used the option sw_cursor and this helped the mouse cursor, but the other problems remain. Does anyone have one of these cards going, and would you please send me the special card options to make this card work? I had the same problem. I have an S3 Virge card, which Sax in 6.4 autodetected, and in any case I seem to remember, was also on the list of cards you could choose from. I first tried it with an Olivetti monitor, but like you, got the lines problem, and failing to find any driver info for that monitor, chucked and got an old compaq one, and the problem sorted itself. So maybe the problem is with the monitor settings. -- Cheers Bruce -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
