[SLE] SOME GENREAL QUESTIONS!!!
Hi everyone. I am new in this list and believe me when I say "really, really new in linux", so I have some basic questions and I will really apreciate it if any of you can guive me an advise: 1. My printer is not on the list on the support data base, is any other place when I can find the driver? 2. Is it me or is that StarOffice has a very low quality with graphics using an HP Deskjet? 3. I am on campus, so my ISP is the university server. When I turn my computer on it is conected to the network, but when I login I need to check my mail or something at the moment, if I dont do that some how after a few minutes it gives me a message like "DHCP time out". Why is that?, what shoul I do? 4. How can I run ICQ on linux? 5. I set my SuSE to work with multiple languages and each time I turn my computer on it send a message box with a message similar to: "Can't find the less". Why is that? 6. What office tools do you suggest as good for linux?, I tried to run Wordperfect Office 2000 and it didnt run at all so I just forgot about it and I will like some suggestions about a good application. Thanks for your help!!!!! Rik. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Kick off your party with Yahoo! 4. How can I run ICQ on linux?
There are several ICQ clones for Linux. Try searching for ICQ with YaST or on freshmeat.net (I don't know which there are, I don't use ICQ... I could guess there is one called kicq, because everything for KDE starts with a K) David -- Tonight the wide sky: like an opaque nimbus of perfectly safe colour. Do you mean where can you get ICQ Linux port (Linux version) ?? SuSE 6.4 include a ICQ clone. Same for my HP Deskjet 610C. May be something wrong with StarOffice PostScript handling. I have better results with Wordperfect 8.
