Re: [SuSE Linux] New book on Suse linux, authors wanted
Why not check it out further? Call! MCP is very reputable... I think that you 'should' be flattered. -----Original Message----- From: Jerry Lynn Kreps <jlkreps@navix.net> To: zentara <zentara@mindspring.com> Cc: suse-linux-e@suse.com <suse-linux-e@suse.com> Date: Monday, March 22, 1999 9:41 PM Subject: Re: [SuSE Linux] New book on Suse linux, authors wanted
Zentara,
About Three months ago this guy sent me a similar email claiming he had read over 800 of my posts while searching the DejaNews and threw me some flattery claiming he recognized in me the skills necessary to write a book on Linux, not SuSE. Then came the same pitch he gave you. I gave him the same response as you. I can't believe a reputable book publisher would "shake a bush" this way. A con artist trying to flush pidgeons might.

Hello, I am an acquisitions editor with Que Publishing, a division of Macmillan Computer Publishing, and am currently working on a book dedicated to SuSE Linux.
As you may know, Macmillan Computer Publishing is the world's largest computer publishing company as well as the top publisher of Linux titles. We are always searching for top-quality writers, reviewers, and editors to lead and help with our books, and at the moment I am trying to bring forces together to publish this book on SuSE.
Would you be interested in acting as a lead author or helping write some chapters? If so, please contact me as soon as possible and I will provide you with more details. Likewise, if you know of someone who might be interested and qualified, I would appreciate it if you could forward this message.
Best regards,
Gretchen Ganser
