Kpdf is better.
Not if you need features such as forms. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. Ooh! I must look for that tomorrow - I care about forms. Thanks :) Having said that, I wasted time today because acroread repeatedly crashed our HP4650 with a particular document. gv handled it fine. Ouch! Too bad... doesn't surprise me much, though. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. They've improved it a lot over the years. And now they seem to get a Linux version out pretty soon after the Windows and Mac releases. There used to be a considerable lag.

Is gv just inherently ugly or is something wrong with my install? Fonts look jagged and mishapen even at ridiculously high magnification. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

It doesn't implement font smoothing as Adobe Reader and kpdf do. Randall Schulz -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Adobe is getting more subtle, if I've understood the feature table properly at <http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/matrix.html> With acroread 8, I'll be able to save filled-in forms (can anybody confirm that before I try an upgrade?) but only if the author of the form specifically enabled it. And the author can't use standard Acrobat to do that, they have to upgrade to pro or 3d. $$$$ => Adobe :) A cunning plan!
